All 93 local seats, decided by optional preferential voting — a "1" alone is formal, and every extra number keeps working for you. The Assembly decides who governs.

21 of the 42 upper-house seats, elected by the whole state as one electorate. One quota is about 4.55% — which is exactly why every vote, everywhere in NSW, can help elect a Democrat to the house of review.

The path there

Our campaign, step by step.

  1. Register the party for NSW state elections. We're already registered for NSW local government — state registration needs 750 members, and every new member counts towards it.
  2. Preselect candidates. Democrats candidates are chosen by member ballot — join and you get a real say.
  3. Stand where we can win influence. A state-wide upper-house ticket, plus Assembly seats where our community roots are strongest.
  4. Campaign honestly. Evidence-led policies, transparent funding, and how-to-vote cards that respect your intelligence.
